Submissions
Author Guidelines
Papers in the following categories are accepted for publication in Two & a Bud
- Research Papers: Papers should be based on original work. Papers with good potential for practical application to the tea growers are preferred.
- Articles: Articles should be based on topics of practical importance. In case of review articles, there should be a critical assessment of the work done so far, with citation of literature. Review articles are expected to bring out the gaps in knowledge and suggest further research on relevant aspects.
- Notes: Brief notes containing information of practical significance are accepted for publication.
SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Soft copies of manuscripts must be mailed to director@tocklai.net. The manuscript must be typed neatly in double-space. Uniformity of fonts is essential. Images must be submitted only in common formats such as JPEG, PNG etc.
PREPARATION OF MANUSCRIPTS
Manuscripts should ideally be written in concise and correct English. All typographical errors must be checked carefully. A poorly written paper will be returned to the author without further review. Papers should not normally exceed six journal pages, including tables, figures and references (which correspond to approximately 18 manuscript pages). Manuscripts for research papers should be organised in the following order:
- Title Page: The title page should include the authors' full name and affiliations, email ids and a running title of a maximum of 40 characters.
- Abstract : Abstracts should be limited to around 150 words, containing the purpose of the study, the principal findings and the significance of the results. References should be avoided in the abstract.
- Text : The text should start with an ‘Introduction’, containing the background and objective of the paper followed by sections titled ‘Materials and Methods’, ‘Results and Discussion’ and ‘Conclusion’.
- Acknowledgement: Acknowledgements may be given at the end of the text.
- References : The name/s of the author/s with the year of publications in parenthesis should be provided in the text. Whenever the number of authors is three or more, the list of names should be abbreviated (eg. Barua et al., 1971). The list of References must include all those cited in the text and should be arranged in alphabetical order without serial numbers. References to unpublished work, personal communications, thesis and abstracts should be inserted only in the text in parenthesis.
- Tables : Each table should be typed on a separate sheet and be numbered consecutively with appropriate legends at the top. All tables must be cited in the text.
- Figures : Figures should be professionally drawn. High quality computer graphics are also acceptable.
- Photographs : Photographs, in the JPEG format, should be submitted separately.
- Legends : Legends for all illustrations should be given in a separate sheet of paper marked with the name/s of the author/s.
- Page proofs : Page proofs are sent to the author for final checking. Alterations in the text at this stage, other than corrections of typographical or other minor errors, may not be allowed. The author is responsible for corrections of proofs, and not the editor.
Note: The Editor, Two & a Bud reserves the right to reject any paper or article that has been published elsewhere or is under consideration for publication.
