Abstract

Two methods of vermicomposting viz., layer method and slurry method are used for the bio degradation of organic waste. The efficiency of these two methods was compared by using one of the most promising composting earth worm species Eudrilus eugeniae. The data clearly indicated that the slurry method charged with biofertilizer and rock phoasphate was superior to layer method with respect to nutrient status, C:N ratio and beneficial microbial load.
