Nitrogen mineralisation pattern of the tea soils of North East India
Abstract
Nitrogen mineralisation characteristics of regional tea soils were studied in an incubation experiment at field capacity moisture level and at 30°C temperature for a 9-month period. The total organic nitrogen in these soils varied from 900 to 2000 ppm. The results indicated that the potentially mineralisable N fractions of the total soil organic N fraction also varied widely in regional tea soils of N.E. India.
